About the event
Our images of God are never formed in isolation—they are shaped through story, relationship, culture, and experience, and they quietly influence how we listen, respond, and offer care. This workshop invites pastoral practitioners into a reflective and prayerful space to gently explore the histories and effects of their own images of God, noticing how these images have been shaped and how they, in turn, shape pastoral presence. Drawing on narrative practices and the wisdom of Ignatian spirituality, we will cultivate a posture of deep listening—both to the movements of the Spirit within ourselves and to the sacred stories of those we accompany. Together, we will consider how to work respectfully and ethically with the diverse images of God held by others, honouring their meaning-making without imposing our own, and discerning ways of being present that are attentive, spacious, and life-giving.
